Blogs + Monologues = Blogologues
Blogologues is the messed up brainchild of creators Allison Goldberg and Jen Jamula. It's the internet performed, word-for-word, onstage. We find the most fascinating sh!t we can on the deep, dark interwebz and then perform it for y'all. We act out community forums, Missed Connections, Yelp reviews, OkCupid profiles, fan fiction, tweets, comment sections and more.
We love making our audience LOL IRL, using the very media we usually experience alone. We also like messing with you. So if you assume that whack Facebook status is written by a bored college student, we'll perform it as a vengeful lover in a romance novel, a kindergarten book report, or full-blown musical number. We love catfishing you. And we might pull you onstage. Just come see it.
Jen Jamula & Allison Goldberg,
Co-Creators of Blogologues
Jen and Alli co-conceived Blogologues in the spring of 2011, after reading a blog post and having a conversation that went something like this:
Alli: "This blog could be a monologue."
Jen: "No, it's a blogologue!"
Since then, the duo has created, produced and performed in 30+ new versions of the show and were featured on the cover of Time Out New York, which ranked them among the “top ten funniest women in NYC”.
Alli and Jen also wrote and filmed the web series, 2 Girls 1 Show, which pairs scripted antics with IRL interviews of niche internet communities and is currently in post-production. They created No Text Weekend, a global movement to encourage people to talk instead of text, which received pledges from all over the world and was featured in outlets including Good Morning America and Real Simple, garnering over 25 million media impressions, in its inaugural year. In addition to their performance work, Alli and Jen lead workshops and coach speakers internationally through GoldJam Creative. Recent clients include Spotify, Buzzfeed, Time Warner, and The Girl Scouts, and topics range from public speaking, to pitching, to bias in the workplace. Jen and Alli are Creative Consultants and have made content for brands such as The Guardian, Mashable, and Time Out.
